WAT ARUN RAJAWARARAM RAJAWARAMHAWIHAN

Location:Near the Navy Base, Arun AmarinRd., Wat Arun, Bangkok Yai District

Originally called Wat Makok, an old monastery of Ayuthaya period, it was renovated by King Taksin of Thonburi and renamed it Wat jaeng. The temple was renovated again in the reign of Rattanakosin’s King Rama II and King Rama IV who adjusted its name to Wat Arun Rajawararam.

Boating along the Chao Praya is a highlight to admire Wat Arun. Open daily between 07.30-17.30 hours.
