JIM THOMPSON'S MUSEUM

Location:Soi Kasemsant 2, opposite Suphachalasai Stadium, Pathumwan District

Nobody does not know Jim Thompson if they know Thai silk. This American first came to Thailand as a US armed force volunteer during WWII and returned to establish Thai silk business under the brand Jim Thompson. Having decided to permanently settle in Thailand, he bought 6 Thai-styled houses from Ayuthaya and relocated them in Bangkok by Saensab canal. These houses have been well preserved to remind people of him including dining room; living room; libray; guest rooms and Jim Thompson’s bedroom.

The Jim Thompson’s Museum, established after his disappearance in Malaysia, has never faded away from the Thais’ memory. Open daily between 09.00-16.30 hours.
